I finally had a chance to get some lightning shots the other night when we had an electrical storm. I have been wanting to take pictures of lightning for a very long time.

i haven't really been updating this journal for the past couple years. i still read my friends list on a regular basis but i'm just too lazy too post. i figured it was time to post a little update.

a friend of mine works for aol productions as a producer for their online music sessions. he called me up a few weeks back saying he needed a jib op (camera operator) for a shoot they had with sheryl crow. i of course said i would make myself available. the sheryl crow shoot was a couple weeks ago and it was amazing. i had a lot of fun and i had forgotten how much i enjoyed shooting music performances. she performed 4 songs and did an interview. the audio sounded great and the cameras (in high def) looked great as well thanks to some great lighting and set design.

today i had a chance to shoot one of my favorite, bands panic at the disco. i knew these guys were good but it wasn't until i had a chance to see them perform from 5 feet away did i understand how amazing they were. they performed 5 songs for us and they sounded as good if not better then on their album. they covered "the weight" by the band which convinced a couple of the older guys on the crew how good they were. i managed to snap a quick pic during sound check.



it was just them playing their music without the elaborate stage show. i think this is by far the best way to see a band. i cannot wait until the performance goes online so i can see how it came together. i will post a link once it's online for you all to see.

friday i go back to shoot alanis morrisette and then the b-52's on monday. yay rock lobster.

woke up and saw this outside my bedroom window. red sky from the fires.

went out to take some pics and this little guy showed and wanted a little camera time. i was happy to give it to him and he was nice enough to not sting me.

i never post anymore but i found this cool little plug in and thought i had to share.

if you have a mac and photobooth you must get this little plug in. the plug in uploads your pics from photobooth to flickr as you take them. this is very cool cause i had this great idea to make a photobooth for work for the last couple weeks before some of us part way. i was going to try and do this on my own and knew it was going to be hard but then i found flickrbooth and it does exactly what i want.

this new elmo doll is freaking awesome.

i watched studio 60 tonight and it was totally awesome. it is yet another great aaron sorkin series that reminds me of one of his early shows sports night. in true sorkin fashion the show has fast and witty dialogue which is what i loved about sports night. the actors are great and the show opens with a bang that seems to be a direct slap in the face of saturday night live which is also on the same network as studio 60.

studio 60 has been added to my season pass list.
